Shipping Service Options
Shipping options are available when you check out after adding items to your shopping cart. Shipping costs vary depending on weight, zip code, and service selected (Ground vs. 2nd Day Air, for instance). You will know the cost of shipping before you complete your purchase.
UPS
We can ship anywhere in the continental US, any weekday. Most UPS orders go out Monday through Wednesday. Check with us for additional options if you need to get a shipment somewhere in a hurry.
- UPS 2 Day — is our standard shipping method when it’s warm out.
- UPS 3 Day Select — or Ground — when it’s cold.
Speedee Delivery
Speedee Delivery orders ship on Tuesdays (Midwest only: ND, SD, MN, IA, WI, northern IL except city of Chicago proper, and St Louis, MO metro area).
Speedee does a great job, and gets most shipments delivered in 1-2 days.
Order deadlines
Please give us 24 hours lead time on orders. Feel free to indicate your desired ship date in the comment section at the bottom of your order.
Please note: PastureLand cannot be held liable for cheese or butter that arrives warm, and UPS does not honor claims for food items. UPS Ground is fine in the dead of winter, but choose a faster delivery service if you have any concerns about your order arriving cold.
Shipping Containers/Refrigeration
Our small shipping cooler holds eight pounds of butter or cheese (or a mixture of the two) in warm weather, more when it’s cold out. Our larger coolers will accommodate a case of butter (30 lbs) with room for a few pounds of cheese.
Our insulated shipping coolers are designed to keep their contents chilled at roughly 45 degrees F for 2 days. In hot weather (sustained temperatures above 80 degrees F) this can be reduced even further depending on weather at your delivery location. Please consider this when selecting your Shipping Service above.) We typically use a 2:3 ratio of cold packs to butter/cheese, 1:2 when it’s warm out.
*Cooler returns
We send instructions with each shipment to make it easy to return your cooler and cold packs. Help us celebrate Earth Day every day – return your coolers so we can use them again. There is no additional charge to return your cooler.
